I started on the same journey you are on: to automate office work. Overwhelmed with manual processes everywhere, I started with a single Google search (How to automate Microsoft Office) which changed my career path to working in automating systems and processes. I had already lived around Moscow and Minsk as a volunteer between high school and university so I was already fluent in Russian and enjoyed living in other countries. My career goal was in fact to work for government intelligence. I actually interviewed with a couple of them for over a year. I was not ultimately accepted so I turned my sights to becoming an international lawyer."},{"type":"paragraph","text":"After law school in Washington, DC, I immediately moved to Brussels where I worked as an independent contractor. I was later hired by an American medical device manufacturer and moved to work in their European offices in Amsterdam. As a corporate lawyer, I noticed that my workload was increasing exponentially and that the work fell into patterns that could be automated. I finished the following languages on DuoLingo: Italian, Portuguese, German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, and of course Russian, Dutch, Spanish and French.
